Kit and culture for the grey day

Own the grey day.

Warm, quiet rainwear for the British weather nobody photographs: the 8am drizzle, the school run, and the dog that still needs walking.

First run is small. We make it once enough of you want it.

The Peak hood

Rainwear that remembers your face.

Most rain jackets keep your body dry and leave the rain running down your face and over your glasses. So people wear a cap under the hood. We built the cap into the hood instead.

03 · Turns when you turn
  • A stiffened peak

Rain runs off the brim and away from your eyes. Glasses stay clear enough to see the pavement.

  • Turns when you turn

The hood adjusts at the back and crown, so it moves with your head when you check for traffic.

  • Side vision kept

Cut wide at the cheek so you can still see the cyclist on your left.

What goes into it

Built to last ten winters.

These are the targets for our first jacket. We will publish the tested figures before anyone pays in full.

Coming later

The Peak first. Then the rest of the grey day.

Rain Face is a range, not one jacket. Here is what we want to make next. Tell us what you would use when you join the list.

  • Man in a dark peaked cap beaded with rain on a lamp-lit wet street

    Peak rain cap

The peak, without the jacket. A rain cap and a peaked beanie for drizzle days.

  • Quilted liner, fleece and knitted neck warmer folded by a rainy window

    Warm layers

An insulated liner, a fleece and a neck warmer that sit under the shell.

  • Hand in a fabric glove with touchscreen fingertips using a phone in the rain, a waterproof bum bag at the waist

    Rain-day kit

Gloves that work your phone and a dog-walk bag that keeps the wet out.

  • Small child in a hooded rain jacket and wellies splashing along a wet pavement

    Kids

Small Peak jackets for puddles, playgrounds and the walk home.

  • Wet spaniel in a dark waterproof dog coat on a foggy park path

    Dog coats

A proper coat for the one who insists on going out anyway.

Made for

The rain you actually get.

Person in a dark rain jacket walking a dog along a foggy, lamp-lit park path

The dog walk

Forty minutes in the park, rain or not. Deep warm pockets for treats and a phone.

Parent and child in hooded jackets walking hand in hand to a school gate in drizzle

08:15

The school run

Smart enough for the gate, dry enough for the wait. Packs into its own pocket at drop-off.

Commuter in a hood waiting at a wet bus stop under amber streetlights

08:50

The commute

Walk, bus, platform. Breathable so you are not damp from the inside by the office.

Parent in a long rain jacket on a muddy football touchline under floodlights

10:30 Sat

The touchline

Ninety minutes standing still in a side wind. Long cut and a lining that holds heat.
